Before starting the XL Hair® treatment, we cleanse and disinfect the scalp. Then we inject the nutrient-rich serum, SkinTech®'s skinbooster XL Hair®, directly into the hair follicles using the U225® Intradermal Injector. The treatment takes about 30 minutes.
The treatment is performed with the modern U225 Mesoinjector. This device is fully automatic and powered by pneumatic pressure. This makes the U225 a very stable and safe device, which has the advantage that there is less vibration during injection and virtually no pain on the skin. A properly performed XL Hair treatment is characterized by no pain, at most a feeling of pressure on the skin.
Head hair grows in a cycle of 6 months. When you start the treatment you will notice that the hair loss stops within 3 months. During the treatment, new hairs already start to grow and the final result is visible after about 6 months. The stimulated hair follicles start to produce more hairs per pouch resulting in more, thicker, and healthier hairs growing.
Results from clinical study
A clinical study included 47 patients (32 women, 15 men) with mild to severe hair loss. Patients followed the treatment protocol; men received 6 and women 8 treatments with XL Hair®, supplemented by home use of AD Hair Energizer Hairspray. After 12 weeks, hair loss stopped in 61% of women and 41% of men. After 24 weeks, new hair growth had increased significantly: 73% in women and 63% in men. Both groups reported a very high satisfaction rate of 85% with visible improvement (1-3).

The XL Hair treatment is suitable for both men and women. Suitability for XL Hair is assessed based on medical factors and the presence of follicles in your scalp. Your gender does not affect this. However, women require more sessions. An XL Hair package for men consists of 6 sessions (performed over 8 weeks) and for women 8 sessions (performed over 12 weeks). The first 4 treatments take place weekly and then once every 2 weeks.
For optimal results, you need a course of treatments. We recommend 6 treatments for men and 8 treatments for women. There are 1-2 weeks between each treatment for best results.
For long-term and lasting results, treatment should be repeated periodically. After a course of 6 or 8 sessions, we recommend visiting once every 3-4 months for a one-session maintenance treatment.
Mesotherapy XL Hair cannot be applied in the following cases:
- Complete baldness.
- Lack of sufficient hair follicles to stimulate hair growth.
- A chronic hair and/or skin condition.
The cost of a Mesotherapy XL Hair treatment is not eligible for reimbursem*nt from basic insurance. In the case of supplementary health insurance, there are exceptional cases of hair loss, acne, psoriasis or eczema where the health insurer will still reimburse it. Ask your health insurer about the policy conditions.
A combination treatment is certainly possible and is often even advised. XL Hair will contribute to the recovery of your scalp and help achieve maximum results from your hair transplant. Usually the hair transplant is performed first and you start XL Hair sessions a month after the procedure.

- We advise you not to dye your hair during the treatment because this is bad for your hair follicles and can negatively influence the effect of XL Hair®. If you do dye your hair, this is allowed up to 5 days before the first XL Hair session and from 2 days after the last XL Hair session.
- Before your treatment, wash your scalp with Scalpfit shampoo, this shampoo is available in our clinic
- After treatment, the skin may be red and slightly swollen. Small spot bleeding is also sometimes visible. This subsides after a few hours.
- 12-48 hours after treatment, the treated area may become itchy and bruises may appear. This is normal and will subside within 72 hours.
- Do not wash your hair for the first 24 hours after treatment.
- For the first 24 hours, do not expose your scalp to high temperatures such as the sun, tanning bed, sauna and hammam.
- We recommend not exercising or swimming for the first 24 hours after treatment.
- Do not use hair styling products such as gel, wax, spray or foam for the first 24 hours after your treatment.
- The next day after your treatment, you can start using the Hair Energizer Spray. Massage the spray into the scalp after washing with Revitalix shampoo. Revitalix shampoo is a maintenance shampoo for daily use, both during and after the treatment period. The products contain active ingredients that support the treatment result.
